Transgender man can apply for asylum
A federal appeals court has ruled that a transgender man who fled El Salvador at age 17 after being kidnapped and raped, and then lived in California for more than two decades as an illegal immigrant, can remain in this country if he can prove to immigration judges that he would be likely to face government-sactioned abuse if deported.
