Michael Jackson child sex trial begins

Opening arguments were laid out yesterday in the child molestation case against Michael Jackson. District Attorney Thomas Sneddon portrayed the pop star as a perverted child molester who showed a 13-year-old boy sexually explicit material and groped him as his associates threatened to kill the youth's mother if he told anyone. Defense lawyer Thomas Mesereau. Jr. countered that Jackson was the victim of the boy's mother, a con artist who used her cancer-stricken son to prey on celebrities for money.
