Adult businesses sue over Utah sin tax

An escort service and clubs that feature semi-nude dancing filed suit against the Utah Tax Commission in U.S. District Court seeking to stop collection of a 10-percent levy on their revenues and seeking unspecified damages. The Utah Legislature approved the so-called topless tax on sexually oriented businesses in March, despite warnings it would bring lawsuits.
